Days after Bhojpuri singer-actor Pawan Singh decided not to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Asansol ticket, the leader on Wednesday took to microblogging site X to say that he will fight to “fulfill the promise he made to the society, people and his mother”. “I will contest elections to fulfill the promise made to my society, people and mother. ‘22,217 Electoral Bonds Purchased, 22,030 Redeemed By Political Parties’: SBI To SC
The State Bank of India on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that a total of 22,217 electoral bonds were purchased and 22,030 of them were redeemed by political parties. The Chairman of SBI filed an affidavit in the top court apprising that in “compliance with its order, date of purchase of each Electoral Bond, the name of the purchaser and the denomination of the Electoral Bond purchased has been furnished to the Election Commission of India”. Bengaluru Cafe Blast: NIA Detains One Person Based On Travel History
The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday detained one person for questioning in Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. The suspect, identified as Shabbir, belongs to Cowl Bazaar area in Ballari. The probe agency suspects Shabbir of having knowledge about the blast and detained him on the basis of his recent travel history. Last week the NIA and the Central Crime Branch detained a cloth merchant from Kaul Bazaar in Ballari and a PFI cadre in their joint investigation in the blast case. READ MORE
