Weather in India is likely to be impacted by western disturbance that can bring snowfall and rainfall accompanied by hailstorms and thunderstorms in various states of the country, predicts the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
In its daily weather bulletin, the weather department forecasts light to moderate rainfall or snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today. The weather change is due to a western disturbance which is inducing cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan, leading to weather changes.

WEATHER UPDATES
- The disturbance is likely to cause thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
- Due to hailstorms and thunderstorms, the weather department has suggested staying indoors and has asked not to take shelter under trees.
- Isolated light rainfall or snowfall is predicted over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh till March 19.
- Isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till March 17.
- Presently moving towards the south, weather conditions are probably going to be hot and humid over Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the next five days.
